Texas A&M System, Area 41, GWSP and First Future Earth: WEF Nexus Workshop; June 1 to 3, 2015; Washington DC
The workshop, sponsored by Future Earth (through the service of the Global Water System Project) and Texas A&M University, will feature invited speakers, selected unsolicited papers, posters and a reception with time to view the posters. Experts serious about the interactions of Water, Energy and Food are invited to attend. Those with expertise in the development of knowledge and monitoring capabilities related to the W-E-F Nexus are particularly welcome. Experts in governance are encouraged to participate. A special session for policy-makers (afternoon of June 2) will include high-level briefings on W-E-F issues Workshop goals:
- Identify gaps in our understanding of the W-E-F Nexus,
- Explore the role of governance in managing the Nexus with an emphasis on land and water policy.
- Identify the observations and science needed to support decisions related to the W-E-F Nexus.
- Explore trans-Atlantic opportunities in research, business, governments and civil society associated with the Nexus.
