Thirteen individuals of meritorious professional achievement were recently inducted as Fellows of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE).

The grade of Fellow is the highest honor bestowed by the Society. It honors members of extraordinary accomplishments and contributions to the field of agricultural, food, or biological systems engineering. In addition to meritorious achievement, individuals must have a minimum of 20 years of engineering practice or teaching and 20 years as a member in ASABE.

Texas A&M University College of Engineering Graduate Preview
The College of Engineering is excited to host its second annual Graduate Preview event for current domestic STEM juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a graduate degree.  This will be an opportunity for students who are considering applying for a graduate degree to get an early look at Texas A&M University.  Participants will hear from faculty and administrators on creating a competitive application, applying for funding opportunities and finding the best graduate program for their individual needs. Water for Sustainable Growth
World Water Week  August 28th – September 2
Texas A&M co-hosts special event at the 2016 World Water Week, WEF Nexus Platform: Achieving the Water, Energy and Food SDGs. The event “focuses on how implementation of the Water Goal (SDG 6) impacts and is impacted by the food and energy goals.” Other convenors for the event include: Asian Development Bank; Deloitte Consulting LLP; Global Water Partnership; International Food Policy Research Institute; International Union for Conservation of Nature; International Water Management Institute; Stockholm Environment Institute and The World Bank Group. Each year, 8 young global water processionals are chosen to serve on the Young Scientific Program Committee (YSPC) whose main role is to provide support to the World Water Week’s Scientific Programme Committee. This year Bassel Daher, Research Associate at the WEF Nexus Group, was chosen to serve on this committee for the 2016 World Water Week.  The seminar to which he will be providing main support for is water as a driver for sustainable growth.
