Policy Briefs for the Water, Energy and Food Nexus in the Arab Region, March 4-5, 2015, Cairo, Egypt
GIZ ACCWaM Programme (Regional Programme for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Water Sector in the MENA Sector), in cooperation with the League of Arab States and the Arabian Gulf University organized an inception workshop for preparing “Policy Briefs for the Water, Energy and Food (WEF) Nexus in the Arab Region”. Representatives from GIZ, Arabian Gulf University, League of Arab States, Texas A&M University, Jordan University, UN FAO, UN ESCWA, American University of Beirut, King Saud University, and MASDAR, convened in a two day workshop on March 4-5, 2015, in Cairo to work on the policy briefs which cover different aspects of the WEF Nexus in the Arab Region (resource systems, governance, institutional landscape, capacity development, and others). Bassel Daher represented Texas A&M’s WEF Nexus Research Group at the workshop and delivered a presentation on the WEF Nexus Tool 2.0, as one of the tools available which could facilitate nexus assessments of future scenarios.
