Dr. Rabi Mohtar along side the dean of engineering, Amr Elnashi, and associate dean for research and innovation, Theresa Mayer, both from Penn State University, visited Washington, D.C., to engage and discuss with government agencies over the issue of the water-energy-food nexus. While in Washington, the group also interacted the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, and the Office of Science and Technology Policy. Elnashi then visited Dr. Mohtar at Texas A&M for a follow up visit where he is pictured to the left in front of the Scoates Hall, home of the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department. While here at Texas A&M, Elnashi met with Texas A&M’s vice chancellor and dean of engineering, Katherine Banks, the associate dean of engineering, Costas Georghiades, and the head of the mechanical engineering department, Andreas Polycarpou.
