The ‘Nexus Dialogue on Water Infrastructure Solutions’, underway since September 2012, focuses on consensus building on the central challenge of the water, energy and food security nexus: how to optimize dam operations and water infrastructure solutions, including built and natural infrastructure options, for overall benefits to people, nature and sustainable economic development. Water-Energy-Food Nexus in Arabic Language

In response to a request from The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), Dr. Rabi Mohtar and Bassel Daher coauthored a brief that provides a broad definition and general introduction of the Water-Energy-Food Nexus in the Arabic Language. The brief will be used as an introduction to the topic for the League of Arab States (LAS). Faculty and students helped the team celebrate the arrival of the TypoSoil® System, one of only three such devices in the world. The device simultaneously measures both the shrinkage and water potential curves of 8 soil samples at the same time. The soil shrinkage curve measures soil specific volume with reference to the gravimetric water content.
